You may have noticed Google's cool "Sesame Street" logo doodle recently. Google is always on top of the latest trends, and Sesame Street is a children's trend that's lasted for 40 years.
As the children's educational television program celebrates it's 40th year on the air, well loved Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie, Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, The Count, and Oscar The Grouch are still popular household names.
Sesame Street was my favorite show as a preschooler back in the 1970's, and I can't think of one other show that has lasted so long on the air.
