Then I finally got an idea ....
You've probably heard of what can happen when even one good deed is performed. One act of kindness tends to lead to another, creating a chain of good deeds...hundreds, even thousands of people can be positively affected....
By what started out as a single Random Act of Kindness.
So I have my idea... to encourage others to go out and make a difference in someone's life, but is that enough? Aside from the good feelings brought on by helping someone who needs it, is there something more I could offer?
A Contest....
I decided to spice things up by turning your good deeds into a chance to win....
Prizes....
$25.00 cash
$15.00 cash
Free T-Shirt from WickedVintageTees.com
Prizes will be drawn on January 15th 2008 - Update - contest has been extended until February 15th.
*I'm looking for more sponsors, scroll down to find out how you can become a Random Act Of Kindness contest sponsor.
And a chance to help a child....
For every 100 random acts of kindness completed I will donate $35.00 for clothing to children in need from the World Vision Christmas Gift Catalog. This $35.00 gift gives children the equivalent of $455.00 worth of desperately needed items like like shoes and warm jackets, that are essential to their health.
I will donate up to $105.00 -You can also become a contest sponsor by offering to donate a gift for charity.
These are the rules...
1) All good deeds must be done in real life (not online), although this could be considered a blogging project, this contest isn't just for bloggers - it's for anyone, so instead of just tagging other bloggers, go tell your neighbors, friends, family members, your church, or anyone who listen!
2) Go out into your neighborhood, into your community and perform a random act of kindness....here are some examples to get you started....
~ Visit an elderly person who could use a friend.
~ Buy a homeless person lunch, or even a coffee.
~ Leave a gift basket with food or presents for Christmas on someone's doorstep who needs it.
~ Anonymously mail $10.00 to someone who needs it badly.
These are just a few ideas, you can find more ideas here, or make up your own. It doesn't matter how big, medium, or small the random act of kindness is, what matters is that you are making a difference!
If you already donate or volunteer than think of something a little different that you could do help someone...
3) Once you complete your good deed then tell me about it! You can email your story to christy_ann_martine(at)hotmail.com, just to be on the safe side (hotmail doesn't always work) you can also let me know you've emailed me by leaving a comment on this blog.
4) If you run a blog or website then you can post your story there, just let me know so that I can enter you into the contest. You must either email me the story or post the story on your website to be entered into the contest. Stories that are emailed to me may be published on Christy's Coffee Break, so by emailing me your story you are giving me permission to do so.
You may include links to your website, pictures, or anything else you'd like posted with your story, along with your email.
Bonus - If you are a blogger or website owner feel free to post my Writer's Reviews Charity Blogger Award on your blog if you wish (no need to pass it on).

So will you do it? I hope that you will!
